Friday February 25 Picks

Windy night on tap at Club Med. I'm feeling good about this weekend, so lets get to it!

Start = $844.00

Race 1
3-1     (Spirit To Spare - Lightning Dragon)

Race 2
2-5-7-1  (Macs Bad Boy - Alcarine - Monsignor Flan - Ellen's Isle)

Race 3
5-4-6-1  (Cuz She Can - Ideal Nectarine - Go On BB - Run On Luck)

$10 ExBx 4/5 = $20

Race 4
7  (Affirmed Action)

Race 5
3) Four Starz Molly - Much improved post and back to Dave Miller. Shows much higher class on the program but with no in the money finishes in those races. Also doesn't show many outer tier tries. I'll lev her beat me if she can. Only using underneath.

4) Dingle Bay - It's Burke, so right away you need to consider. Barn is hot. Horse is also dropping out of Yonkers where it looks like she didn't fair too well. Maybe the added distance was also a problem. I'll use, but again underneath.

5) Winback Alice - Improved post and similar class. The two that beat her were uncatachable and incredibly consistent repsectively. That was a quck opening quarter, 26.4, last week too!

7) An Original - Shows Pref races, but has been off over a month. I'll watch carefully for later consideration.

5-4-3-2

Race 6
1-5-8-4  (Ridge Jumper - Stacked Deck - Nights Kreation - Southwind Swallow)

$5 Tri 1 w 4/5/8 w 4/5/8 = $30

Race 7
1) Sam Hill - Long layoff, then a break...not for me.

3) Eoos - Always was a bit of a fan of this horse and last effor was super. From the 3 spot the trip should be easier and it will give him every opportunity to win it this time!

4) Must Be The Bunny - Dube was hot Monday and I'm goign to stick with the philosophy that, that is how this horse won. Had a rail ride and just got up for the win. This time won't be nearly that easy and I feel if he has to vacate the cones, he'll be in trouble.

6) Box Car Johnnie - Dropping JUST a tad and the three that finished top order last week were solid foes. A maybe, and will offer value.

7) Third Day - I've chased this one for weeks now and he's shown nothing. I liked him out at the Meadows but the success hasn't translated. Will the tactics change now and if so will it help? I'm done with him, now watch him win...

9) Basilio Blue Chip - Great effort last week for the win! Left, tucked, shuffled a bit, then back out for the win. This won't be easy because Eoos draws inside AND it will likely be a sloppy track. Can't ignore though!

3-9-4-6

$2 Tri 3/9 w 3/6/9 w 3/4/6/7/9 = $24

Race 9
1) Village Bolero - Lost to Spirit To Spare in last and that one was not being caught last week AND would embarass this field. Gets the rail, like she really needs it? and the speed will be there. Down the road?

2) McFlirty - A horse I kind of like, probably because she won me some money not too long ago. With the right trip she has a shot and Tetrick has been positioning horses perfectly lately. Only up to the mare to bring home the victory.

3) Fax Me - Loses Sears to the 1 but the horse is still sharp as a tack. Steps up a bit so we'll see how she fares. Won't offer much value so I'll go fishing elsewhere!

4) Dagnabit Hanover - That's right, a 25.4 first quarter. Popped the pocket for the lead to a 54.0 half and faded to 5th come the wire...but only 3 lenghts back! I wish Dave Miller was still here, but this one still has a great shot! Drop and pop!

7) Don't Deny Me - This one has faced SO much better but only beat the bottom level by a neck lat week!? D Miller sticks here with it being Rucker but I feel she needs a perfect ride to score. I'll let her beat me but can use underneath. Offers nice value.

8) Arbeedo - Another who has faced better but can't seem to find a way to win at the lower levels. With an off track and the outside I'll wait for a better spot.

4-1-3-2

$10 Win 4 = $10
$5 Tri 4 w 1/3 w 1/2/3/7 = $30

Thursday February 24 Picks

Didn't pick Monday, not worth it even though there was a $230 winner! Back at it tonight!

Start = $956.00

Race 2
6-9-8     (Cowgirls N Indians - Sand E Fiftyfive - Babe's Bistro)

$5 ExKeyBx 9 w 6/8 = $20

Race 3
3) Blissmequick - Looks like a first over grind last week and almost got up to the lead. This will be the third start back off a layoff and if improvement continues she definately will hit the ticket. I also think the journey tonight will be easier.

4) Laugh Away - Did the dirty work last week but couldn't hold onto the lead. The fractions don't even look quick last week and she still folded late as the favorite. Same class and similar post makes you have to play, but I'd be more than willing to take my chances for a price elsewhere.

7) Sun On The Rocks - 9/2 morning line which makes me give a second look but for me, I can't figure out why? Zero outer tier trips and las week looks like she might have gotten lucky to find room. From the 7 hole and almost no speed to show she'll be toward the back early and have to go out into the flow. Who know what happens if that's the case.

8) Cheyenne Ina - First start back wasn't terrible at all. Started slowly but gained some nice ground late. Sears is back aboard and there should be improvement. Should offer a nice price too!

9) Always In My Heart - Solid win last week. Only knock is post, but I do feel she can overcome it. Will definately be the favorite though, so does Tetrick try a brush and crush here? And will that work if he does?

9-3-4-7

Race 5
8-1     (Natural Woman N - The Stewardess A)

Race 6
1) Lake Shark - Last two don't look too impressive and I'm not a fan of horses who rail ride BUT this is a pretty big driver change. Marohn Jr to Sears.

2) Lock Out - Coming from Yonkers and I wish I had been paying more attention to the Yonkers shippers coming from that added distance. Not too sure how much of a difference it's been making. This is a Burke horse and the barn was on fire last weekeend.

5) Terror Time - Bet of the night!? Has the angle here AND a switch from Berry to Pierce. All systems go!

6) Payne's Landing - Switches barns again and I feel Chellis will be aggressive with this one. May make or break this race!

8) Float Blue Chip - Coleman and D. Miller back at it again. Wired the field last week as the favorite in the same spot. This won't be as easy, I don't think! Can't leave off though.

10) Royal Woods - Wish this wasn't post ten, but it is! Horse shows lots of outer tier work on both half and mile tracks which I like to see. If Berry can get into it and get into the flow this one does have a shot.

5-8-10-1

$20 Win 5 = $20
$2 Tri 5/8 w 3/8/10 w 1/2/5/6/8/10 = $32

Race 7
1) CC Mister C - Does show Open HDP from Yonkers, and now NW$6,000!? What happened! Gets John Campbell and the rail. The strategy of just showing Open company on the program has bit me in the butt before so...take a chance?

3) Captain Primeau - We all know the story now. Wins convincingly, breaks or decides not to show up. Who knows what we'll get. I hope the one of the later...

4) Big Sky Revenue - Parked early last week, then sat in and came on for third late. I feel his luck has to be better this week.

5) My Jewels - Did the added distance at Yonkers do this one in last week? Can he handle the mile track. We'll find out!

6) Habanero - First over last week and hung in for fourth place. Moves away from the rail but I think it will benefit this guy. Last week was the first outer tier try and this week I'm thinking he finds cover. Should improve his chances!

7) Muscles To Spare - Probably will see speed again, but also again will he hold on? I'm counting on no.

8) Mr Cole - Wins with ease last week and then D. Miller is out! Interesting? Still can't ignore that effort. Might offer a bit of value out here AND if people hop on board the 3.

9) Whatnblazes - Dave Miller opts here. Horse is dropping a bit and that last effort wasn't awful, but he did lost a bit of ground late which isn't encouraging. The horses this one's been against are far better as well. Because D. Miller chose here I guess I have to give a shot because of how easy the win lat week was on the 8.

10) Halfpipe - Wish it wasn't post 10. I'll wait...

Start = +$1,150.00

Race 1
8

Race 2
3-2-6-7

Race 3
1) Some Girls Do -Impressive win last week made it three in a row. 2-2 in the TLC Series. I suspect a sweep.

1A) Hello Camie - Not a bad entry to have. A 1st and 2nd in the series and post 2 for the final.

2) Sagebrush Susie - Big post advantage on the 1. Start in the first leg was very impressive, and she lost. Last week was an easy win but it was a rail ride until late in the race. I like the 1 more.

3) Gordys Filly Yenta - Last week was a very solid race in my opinion. Some Girls Do was just too good. Post 3 helps though!

1A-2-1-3-6

Race 4
6-1-5-8

$5 Tri 6 w 1/5/8 w 1/5/7/8 = $45

Race 5
1) Manningly - Higher class up in Canada and it was a solid effort. First over for a while and only lost a length.

2) Celebrity Hercules - Good speed try last week but faded late. Will need that extra kick come the stretch drive. I think I'll use only underneath and let him beat me if he can.

3) In Focus - Shows up out of no where. Keeps the inside post and if he's as sharp as last week, look out.

4) Pembroke Prayer - Open at Yonkers and Woodbine. Drops at M1 and is good for third. Has the race over the track and I think there will be improvement.

6) Don't Know Chip - Very, VERY sharp of late. Must include. A 3 wide swing for a win, a cover trip for second by a neck and Tetrick. All systems go.

7) Winning Mister - Two Open wins at Dover. Shows this class at M1 with a win as well. Speed!

Very difficult race to handciap. Lots of sharp horses. Maybe just go with the longest shot?!?

7-1-6-3

$10 Win 1 = $10
$1 Tri 1/7 w 1/2/3/6/7 w 1/2/3/4/6/7 = $32 (Hoping the large number of sharp horses drives some prices)

Race 6
1) Red Star Hottie - Post 2 and will have early speed. Will see eye to eye with Laughandbehappy early on and get a pocket ride?

1A) Go On BB - Out side post, has the speed to get into it early, but I feel we won't see it. Sits and hopes for a good trip and takes her shot late.

2) Symphony In Motion - Gets the rail which improves her chances here. She will be closer for that late kick. Has a shot.

3) Laughandbehappy - Very impressive l ast week. If you play against, haha! Good Luck.

4) Cuz She Can - Last week was a rough trip and she gave Laugh all she had. If the trip is smoother, and Laugh so much as coughs, She Can will be right there.

6) Ideal Newton - Beat Red Star last week.from the same post. The rode to the top won't be nearly as easy this time around.

Saturday February 12 Results

Always easy to say after the night is over, but there was some easy picks tonight. Hope a handful picked up on the bias of last week helping those horses on the lead this week! No hits tonight, but some close calls. Can't wait to go back at it again next week!

Start = +$1,107.00

Race 3

My Pick: 1-3-4-5
Finish:     6-1-5-3

Race 5
Versado didn't improve and Windsong Gorgeous couldn't stand the first up trip. Art Professor steps up in a big way forcing a dead heat for first with a sharp Whiskey Pete. Foreign Officer came home quick but it just wasn't quite enough. Urgent Action had a great spot to roll by going second over but just couldn't do anything with that. Can't be a good sign going into the final.

My Pick: 1-2-4-3
Finish:     7/4-2-6-1

Race 6
Mr Massimo...I liked this horse, and I don't know why I didn't include him to be honest. Cut the mile last week when speed was a killer and still just got nailed. Was an easy pick really. Spy N had the lead for a bit but folded when it mattered, Noble Falcon just isn't the consistent horse he used to be, and how wide was Blatantly Good down to the wire, jeez!

My Pick: 7-6-5-1
Finish:     3-4-7-5

Race 7
Bongo needed a quick pace and it wasn't incredibly quick but he closed nicely for third. I really thought Distinct Color would race so much better than he did; squandered a great trip. Toucam Sam followed the outer tier and was a closing second and I really can't wait for Joe Joe to get a good post! Shadow's Dream did nothing, I think Dube is in la la land of late, and Courser Hanover was another easy pick. Cut the mile and won lat week. At this point it made it two, and there is one more on the card that fits the trend. Hope everyone made money this way! Sadly, I didn't.

My Pick: 4-5-6-9
Finish:     7-5-1-6

Race 8
Cinderella Guy, my pick of the night really, popped the pocket and I'm not sure why. Just misses getting nailed by the other front runner from last week, Presedential Order. Again Dube was asleep on Southwestern Dream. When he decides to wake up, or there's a driver change, this horse will win. Is sharp and has been put in bad spots the past few weeks.

My Pick: 1-2-6-7
Finish:     6-1-2-10

Race 9
P H Jackpot finally wakes up and wins. I'm not surprised I just wished I had guess when the wakeup was coming. JL's Man Of Action got caught behind Driven To Succeed who threw in the white towl in the stretch. Good bet for next week, but no value. Another who was shuffled badly and got out late was Killer Quakes!

My Pick: 10-7-2-6
Finish:     4-7-5-10

Race 10
Malicious cut the mile last week and he showed up tonight to race. That makes 4 horses tonight. Didn't win but I like the improvements he's made going into the final. Allthatgltsisgold shows he's vulnerable and Code Word wins convincingly.

My Pick: 2-7-1
Finish:     1-7-2-8

Race 11
The angle works again. Stonebridge Wish gets the victory. Takeshiemichi seems to be getting his form back and is good for third while Camshaft Hanover races big for a second week in a row.

My Pick: 1-3-4-10
Finish:     3-7-1-2

Saturday February 12 Picks

Looking for a little luck tonight as I been a bit cold of late. Still feeling good about my picks so one of these days I'll get a big night. I feel tonight will offer nice prices on a few horses I like. Here we go!

Start  = +$1,251.00

Race 3
Very difficult race to handicap. I'm not looking at the program but there are many sharp horses in here and it's a short field. I'm going with Four Starz King on top, got jammed in last week and when finally free it was too late. I had Montonez from post 10 last week and he filled out a nice trifecta for me. Much improved post and I think it will help tremendously. Beau Rivage N also raced very well last week, but the value won't be back, and Master Stroke is just a very consistent horse tough to leave off. Mcclelland got away from St Elmo and won and he's another hard to ignore.

1-3-4-5 (gotta leave someone off the ticket)

Race 5
1) Windsong Gorgeous - 5 straight seconds. Post two should keep the consistency going as he looks to be inline for a pretty nice trip.

1A) Versado - First start back wasn't great, but I can't say I'd be shocked if he runs much better here. Definitely expect some improvement.

2) Foreign Officer - Got shuffled BADLY two back and last week got a pocket ride and just got up for the win. Has post 1 again so there will be no value but you cannot leave out.

3) Urgent Action - Swung 3 wide around last turn and closed nicely for third behind a shapr Allthatgltrsisgold and Whiskey Pete. Porbably gets away midpack and fishes for cover. More than capable.

4) Whiskey Pete - Continues to race very sharp. First over last week and just missed beating a repeat winner. I think we'll see speed again and Berry will look to go straight to the top.

I don't see much value in this race, so I find it an easy race to skip for betting purposes.

1-2-4-3

Race 5
1) Spy N - Drops back to a level I think he'll do some damage AND he lands the rail. In on the Also Eligible. Use.

2) Noble Falcon - He too drops back down to where he won two back. That race he won really catches my eye too. Parked mile first up and dug in for the win on a good track. Also in on the Also Eligible, I just wish Sears had stuck here.

3) Mr Massimo - Cut the mile and just missed the win on a good track when speed was not holding up. Gotta like his chances here as he's back with the same class. Also Eligible too.

4) Get It Now - Sears goes here with Burke and I guess I can't argue? Dropped down to NW$12,000 at Yonkers and he won easily, was in the Complex before that. He's definitely got a shot.

5) Johnny Z - Sharp of late and he too is dropping. Billy Dobson did well with him last week and needs to find that similar trip here. Tough to leave out.

6) Doubletrouble - Want a long shot with some potential. Here he is. First start back was in a higher class than this and he's been there since. First drop back down with some stakes races and wins as well sa Preferred races. I would not be shocked.

7) Blatantly Good - Not nearly where he was last year when he won the Presidential, but this is a pretty hefty drop. On paper he probably should blow by these but that's why they race. I do feel he did improve each leg of the Pres this year. Have a feeling he won't offer much value.

8) J A's Outlaw - He can handle this type of class for sure, on a half mile track. Was in Open company at Yonkers and raced well but anything higher than NW$10,000 at M1 and he struggles. Plus it's an outside post.

9) Doubleshotascotch - Another I prefer on smaller tracks.

10) Psilvuheartbreaker - Lots of Yonkers horses coming to Big M...Capable of winning for sure, but I'll see one back at the mile track and from post 10.

7-6-5-1

$2 Tri 7 w 1/3/6 w ALL = $48

Race 7
1) Bongo -  100/1 to 6/1. Are you serious? Needs a quick pace.

4) Distinct Color - Liked this one last year when he was out at Balmoral. Drops down again and has my angle! I like!

5) Toucam Sam - Two move effort last week on a sloppy track and got up for second. I feel he will offer another strong effort tonight in the same class.

6) Shadow's Dream - Better post, same class. If Dube can get him into the flow he could be there come crunch time.

7) Courser Hanover - Speed wasn't holding up last week, but it got worse as the night went on. He was in race 1. Up in class a bit and I prefer others but I will acknowledge that it would be no surprise if he won.

8) Casimir Camotion - More than capable at peak form, but I haven't seen anthing remotely close to that yet.

9) Nuclear Joe Joe - You've got to be kidding me. post 10, 10, 9, and now 9 again! Has the angle though but it is a slight step up. I'll throw udnerneath again.

4-5-6-9

$2 Tri 4/7 w 4/5/6/7 w 4/5/6/7/9 = $36

Race 8
1) Cinderella Guy - May be my pick of the night. Rucker and Miller team up is hot lately and this one blasted last week in a higher class. The track was in bad shape so I'll forgive and I think tonight is a strong effort for this guy.

2) Southwestern Dream - I thought he was goign to vacate the cones and didn't. It may have hurt him becuase he was raging up late but it was from too far back. Dube gets him in a better position he'll be heard from. Drops.

3) The Mohegan Pan - Maybe he needed a race over the track? Becuase he's better than what he showed his first time to M1 this year. That really was a poor, poor effort and I find it hard to bet off that. Tetrick's choice over 6.

6) Presidential Order - Victim of the bias last week beause he was very well rated and then stopped! This is however, a step up. He's capable but I think I'll let him beat me and put underneath. Tetrick opts off.

7) Last Conquest - Has been climbing the class ladder and this is about as high as he can go...I think. Did last week show a trend of taling off a bit, or was it just the trip and the track condition? I guess we'll find out tonight.

1-2-6-7

$5 Tri 1 w 2/3/6/7 w 2/3/6/7 = $60

Race 9
2) Don't Fool Me Now - I don't like to bet this one until he's in less than NW$10,000. One of the AE is NW$7,500. Does that encourage me to bet, a little because Sears is back aboard.

7) Bugatti Hanover - Nice drive by Tetrick nailing Beau Rivage at the wire. See how Beau raced earlier and it could give you a better gauge of how this one mine do. Use.

10) JL's Man Of Aciton - Outside post again, but he's won from out here before. Last week the bias hurt him. This week it won't. Must use.

10-7-2-6

Race 10
1) Code Word - Rail rider, and I don't like those. Too much has to go right.

1A) Good Bad Lucky - Looked awfully flat last week...

2) Allthatgltrsisgold - Is that a 3 wide move for half a mile...and still won! Yikes...tonight will be easier. Zero value.

3) He's Gorgeous - Needs this race I think.

7) Malicious - Another victim of the speed bias last week. Would he have won that anyway, maybe not but the effort last week was good and I think tonight will be even better.

2-7-1

$10 Win 7 = $10

Race 11
1) Takeshigemichi - I'll figure he needed that first one. Shows Open level races from Pocono and gets the rail here. Pena and Sears team back up for this one. Use.

3) Stonebridge Wish - Parked mile = the angle! Solid fourth after a rough trip last week. Have to use in my opinion.

4) Michael's Marvel - I think I remember this guy on some sort of streak a few years ago racing agaisnt much better so he has the clas to handle the step up. However, this is a different time. Was on the lead last week too which was not easy. Dave Miller choose off of Camshaft Hanover. Another use.

10) Mr Excellent - Tried the speed last week on the wrong night. Forgive that and if he gets to the top or near it fairly easily, he will be heard from late.

Friday February 11 Results

Lots of horses I bet tonight broke. Not cool. Bit of a cold streak lately so it's good I got hot for that stretch. When you hit some nice prices you can always afford to have these types of streaks. Just hope it doesn't last too much longer!

Race 1
Enny Youngman rides he pylons and is able to slide out late and gets up for the win. Monsignor Flan cut the mile and Spirit Raycer did nothing with the pocket! Not what I expected. Cryto Man stayed on the rail like I figured but I thought he'd be closer from the 3 post?

My Pick: 7-3-5-4
Finish:     6-1-7-5

Race 2

My Pick:
Finish:     6-8-9-1

Race 3
Did Summer Camp really break from the rail!? Wow. Meirs goes to the top and gets no pressure until late and holds on for the win. No Monkeys had a pocket ride for second while Freddy Day Hanover got a nice second over trip. Sniper Seelster was parked the mile and if you been reading you know what that means for next week! He was closing late too!

My Pick: 2-1-4-6
Finish:     1C-1B-6-4-3

Race 4
Newport Volo back at M1 and back to the winners circle with a pocket ride win. Ellen's Isle stayed trotting and cut the mile but was only good for second. Tampico for Rucker and Dave Miller came hard late but only got third. Rucker and Miller teaming up again and the horses have been pretty good. Like a few years ago when Miller drove for both Coleman and Rucker?

My Pick: 1-3-5-9
Finish:     5-3-2-8

Race 5
I guess Ideal Newton did need that one. Came up and won at even money this week. Red Star blasted, got to the pocket but couldn't catch Ideal late and at 46/1 Western Graduate road the rail for third.

My Pick: 2-6-4-3
Finish:     4-6-1-5

Race 6
Ya know, I liked In Focus and I was convinced otherwise. Trust your instinct first! Also was convinced to include Baby Boy Grin and look where that got me! Good strong race for Pierce and Focus.

My Pick: 6-7-5-8
Finish:     1-7-6-8

Race 7
Linden Beauty came up emtpy, which botched my picks. Aqua Artist looked good with some long shots for second and third. Here's a job well done to you if you had it!

My Pick: 10-8-3-1
Finish:     1-5-2-8

Race 8
Miller and Rucker again...

My Pick: 4-2-7-8
Finish:     4-3-7-1

Race 9
Didn't see the race but three horses at the wire by a nose. Must have been exciting!

My Pick: 1-5-4-2
Finish:     5-10-9-2

Race 10
Had the exacta, but it didn't pay much! Laughandbehappy back to the speed and Cuz She Can grinded first up with Omen getting third! Tri was nice too. Good luck to Surick in the final!

My Pick: 5-3-4-7
Finish:     5-3-6-1

Race 11

My Pick:
Finish:     9-5-2-10

Race 12
I figured post 10 would be too much for Kings Road. Really liked Tiber, but 3/2 stinks. Harrah's Best had a strong effort actually getting the call at the top of the stretch. What happened to Third Day...

My Pick: 7-4-10-5
Finish:     7-5-6-1

Back at it tomorrow!

Friday February 11 Picks

Pretty good card this Friday night. Temperature's are looking to beign to improve in the coming week and lets hope our handicapping follows suit!

Start = +$1,399.00

Race 1
1) Monsignor Flan - Shows two recent breaks and that's not encouraging. HOWEVER, the last break was from the 10 slot. Not sure how much of a chance he may have had anyway. SO...IF you disgard the last race, the prior two were very strong. Moves back inside. May not offer much of a price, and the breaks may make him a risk, but I feel he's hard to leave out.

2) Edgar - If this horse wins or beats me I'll smack myself. It's a long story, an inside joke, so because of that I may have to throw in for laughs.

3) Crypto Man - Last race parked at quarter from 10 slot. Fades badly late. Race before that parked the mile and finished a strong fourth, which I LOVE to see. Same class and much improved post. I think he will go to the top but I'm hoping someone will retake quickly. If so he'll get a smoother journey than he's been in lately and has a great shot.

4) Tilly Bomb - Has won $14,700 so he's in with the claiming tag. Seems to either win, or throw in the towel. Tetrick lands on the 5, and this one seems to need the right trip. If he gets he, he's more than capable...but will he?

5) Whatnblazes - Tetrick sticks with a Ford trainee here. Qualified OKAY it seems, but his first start back last time he only lost by a nose. Because Tetrick is here, I feel you can't ignore.

6) Enny Youngman - Squeezes in for the condition by $494. Beat a lesser class two back, and was a rail riding 3rd in last from same class as this. Not many outer tier moves and I do forsee Dave Miller going to the rail and not leaving until late. Won't be easy.

7) Spirit Raycer - Has "the angle"...almost. Out of $30,00CL and then the parked out mile at the $17,500 level. Big driver change from Berry to Gingras. Only knock is again landing outside. Likely blasts out, and this is the horse that could give the 3 a trip.

9) Fortissimo - Shows zero early speed, so he'll probably be at the back early. Kills his chances the way I see it.

7-3-5-4

$2 Tri 7/3 w 1/3/5/7 w 1/3/4/5/6/7 = $48
$10 ExBx 3/7 = $20

Race 3
1 Entry) - Burke entry again in series action. Have to include. Very well may be 1/5 or so with Meirs Hanover and No Monkeys Allowed. Makes the race a non bet if you ask me.

2) Summer Camp - right back to his winning ways with the better post. This race will be 1 2 or 2 1...BORING.

I really see no use talking about the rest of the hores to be honest. Sniper Seelster might have a shot and will have a bit of value. A pass for me

2-1-4-6

Race 4
1) Tell Me A Story - Big drop here and lands on the rail. Only thing that bothers me is no recent Meadowlands starts. The rail helps big time, so if he can handle the mile track he should be close.

3) Ellen's Isle - Broke in the final of the Superbowl, so I gues we'll toss that. I'll be honest, I really don't know how to compare the classes, but on form alone I'll throw in for sure.

5) Newport Volo - Won for me two weeks back for the challenge and for a nice trifecta. It's a bump up a bit from that class. Again, shows the Opens which was one of the main reason's I liked him. Can't leave him out now right?

8) SJ's Super Star - Done well with Sears for trainer Kent Sherman but the horse shows little to no early speed. From post 8 I see it hard getting into the race early. If the pace is fast enough and he's positioned right he can win. Sears is the master at putting horses where they belong...

9) Dink Adoo - Said it before and I'l say it again. How can you not like this horse? Post 9 stinks though, won't be easy.

10) Konchie - Are you seroius!? Look at that race two back at the Meadowlands. Two wide for a half mile! and still finished in 1:58, good for 6th...placed 5. I woulda put a large sum of money last week, but it was Freehold and I would have made the horse 1/5, or even 1/9! Offers a price, and I'll play him.

10-1-3-5-9 (Konchie is scratched)

$4 Tri 10 w 1/3/5 w 1/3/5/8/9 = $48
$5 Tri 1/3 w 1/3/5 w 1/3/5/8/9= $60

Race 5
2) Shacked Up - Did much better than I thought on return to M1. Now gets a better post, and I foresee a speed try here. Could go far with that tactice with this field.

3) Ramona Disomma - A quick pace and she'll be heard from late. Finished 7th last week but only 1.75 back! Offers value.

4) Ideal Newton - Needed that start for sure. Wasn't GREAT but it wasn't bad by any means! Little value here, but can't ignore.

5) Jasperthat A - Rail rider, and I'm not a fan of those types. However it's a short field so it will keep her close the whole race...maybe.

6) Red Star Hottie - The other speed in the race. She'll blast to get the lead and I think it will be this one on top with Shacked up sitting second.

2-6-4-3

Race 6
6-7-5-8

Race 7
3) Natalie - Last chance for me. I really thought this one would come back stronger and she's failed me every time. Inside post, reamains in the same class. Don't let me down!

8) Lightning Dragon - Wow, how about that consistency. One out of money finish ont he program lines. Do Not Leave Out.

10) Linden Beauty - Yes it's post ten, BUT has "the angle"!!!!!! My top choice becuase of that AND she's had recent starts in tougher classes.

10-8-3-1

$20 Win 10 = $20

Race 8
4-2-7-8

Race 9
1-5-4-2

Race 10
1) Shanghai Lil - Hurt me last week on an angle I hate. Rail rider...not cool

2) Southwind Swallow - Won last week, but this is a whole new ball game. Sears off.

3) Cuz She Can - Lures Tetrick away from Omen Hanover and the Surick barn. Back to the top.

4) Symphony In Motion - Got a nice smooth trip last week and came up with the win. Looks for that nice tuck again.

5) Laughandbehappy - Just missed last week. Back to the speed here which will mix things up!

6) Omen Hanover - Again, I know the trainer and I love this horse. Might be too high, but gets the article on her and the trainer. Is it an "Omen"?

7) Go On BB - Pretty smooth trip last week but the tactics have to be different from the outside slide. It is only a 7 horse field. Does Gingras blast out, or sit and save a bit?

Thursday February 10 Results

One grouping of picks in the wrong order! So close, yet so far. Didn't get to watch the races tonight, so any comments are based off the race lines from the ustrotting website. Hope you faired well tonight

Start = $1,399.00

Race 1

My Pick:
Finish:     2-6-4-7

Race 2
1/9!!! Are you serious!? I didn't see the program for this race, but is she THAT good? Certainly seems like it!

My Pick:
Finish:     5-4-7-1

Race 3

My Pick:
Finish:     2-1-6-5

Race 4
Big Sky ends up the favorite, so why did I pick on top!? My next three were the right order! My first comments on Macs were right, and I hope you listened becaue I didn't! Had zero pressure and went on to win easily! Drop and post improvement does well for Habanero but I will toot my own horn here, I figured he go to the rail and not leave. Worked out well though!

My Pick: 2-4-3-1
Finish:     4-3-1-2

Race 5
Joe Palz edged out as the favorite from post 10 by who else but the second choice, Dapper Denzil. Interesting to see where Palz draws for the final. For me, his draw will determine a lot of things.

My Pick: 10-8
Finish:     6-10-4-5

Race 6
Mojo Terrow as my pick in the challenge, so I'm not sure why I didn't choose on top here? Makes it three in a row! Sky Mesa, not sure what happened. I see an 'I' so how bad was the interference? Doesn't look like he woulda had much an impact anyway. I was DEAD WRONG about Truly The Best. James Eaton horses just aren't showing up yet. Voice Of Truth again didn't use the speed, and I'm not sure why? Steal The Diamonds looks like a good bet for next week. First time lasix speed try and holds on for third. Gotta Love Him rides the rail as I thought until late but doens't show much after that.

My Pick: 8-6-1-3
Finish:     3-5-4-6

Race 7

My Pick:
Finish:     6-3-10-8

Race 8
Macho Lindy brush and crush, as he should! No money to be made though.

My Pick: 6-1-5-4
Finish:     6-2-4-3

Race 9
Native Lightning sees post 9 a bit too much and folds late in the stretch but holds third. Four Starz Sue finally finishes out of the money; are his best days behind him? Bad Hombre showed much less than I thought he would as did Bettor Watch Him, but he was a chance play.

My Pick: 9-8-3-2
Finish:     7-5-9-2

Race 10
Don't Deny Me is another to bet next week! Blasted from post 10 and lead the race up to the stretch. As I didn't see the races, I'm not sure how well speed held up, but that could be something to consider. Better post and I'll be on board. Mcflirty wheeled first up and got by, but couldn't hold on and saved second.

My Pick: 5-10
Finish:     6-5-4-2

Thursday February 10 Picks

Thursday February 10

Another sub par Thursday card. I'm not sure why I'm surprised at this point. Every Thursday sucks. ONLY positive is that with such poor quality, there can be some longshots and nice prices. Here's to hoping you get them!!!

Start = +$1,507.00

Race 1
Race 2
Race 3

Race 4
1) Halfpipe - Bottom level race for this group. This horse is a toss up in my opinion. He either shows up great or folds. Last two efforts were good, so I find it hard to leave out, but be carefule. I would not take a short price.

2) Big Sky Revenue - Got off a nice 9/1 last out and I was one of the lucky ones to have him for a trifecta. WILL NOT offer that price now. Very well may end up the favorite with a proven Ken Rucker and a red hot Brian Sears. Better post, staying in the same class. How can you not bet?

3) Habanero - Dropping down from a $30K claimer and then a NW$10,500. Last race you can toss, even though he broke he had no shot from the outside. This post and drop will drastically improve his chances. Also shows an Open HC try at Pocono and if you haven't been reading, I like to see that. However, shows zero outer tier tries, do not like to see that!

4) Macs Bad Boy - Gets a much better post and I like to see the speed at the gate in last. Was parked so I can forgive the late fold, a little. Will probably step right around the 3 inside him. If there's no pressure elsewhere he might go a long way. I think I will still use underneath, and let him beat me on top if he can.

8) Jodevin Time - No intention of betting. I bring this horse up becuase is that  a 36.4 final quarter in his last race? Yikes...

9) Captain Primeau - I'll start with a good luck if you fancy. This horse has burned more money than any other I can think of. If he doesn't break, he definitely has a shot at this bottom level but that's not a guarantee! Inconsitent and has not won in quite some time.

2-4-3-1

Race 5
8) Quality Sport - I liked him last week but he didn't show. I'll go with him needing that race. Better effort now.

10) Joe Palz - Looks much the best here. Post 10 MIGHT hinder him, but I still forsee a win for this one in the near future.

10-8

$10 Win 8 = $10

Race 6
1) Truly The Best - First start off the bench was a speed try and I think it will do him good. Nice tightener and he'll go right back to the top. This time, he may not look back...

2) Gotta Love Him - Looks like a rail rider, and I'm not a fan of those. Needs to be in the right spot, at the right time, with the right pace, and room. That's too many things to go right if you ask me.

3) Mojo Terror - Coming off 2 straight, but both were hard fought. Does, however, get a much improved post. He'll likely battle for the lead. Looking like another race that might not be so easy.

4) Steal The Diamonds - Shows outside movement at first glance which is good. However his only in the money finish was last week by a nose in against a weak group. It is Pena, and is adding lasix. I can't blame for throwing onthe ticket just for those facts, but I'd watch this one for the future. See if the lasix helps, and find the right spot. I'm not sure if this is it.

6) Voice Of Truth - Abandoned the speed last week and it didn't work. Did finish only 2 lenghts back, but I think we'll see the speed again this week.

7) Lucky Bet - It's all in the name ;-)

8) Sky Mesa - From the rail to 8 which isn't fun. Pretty strong effort behind one of the favorites of this series, Joe Palz and it was only by a neck. Was also first start off layoff. Must overcome the outside post but it's not like this group is overly impressive? Can't leave off.

8-6-1-3

$2 Tri 1/6/8 w 1/6/8 w 1/2/3/4/6/8 = $48
Race 7
Race 8

6) Macho Lindy - Should crush this field, but that's why they race.

6-1-5-4
Race 9
2) Four Starz Sue - Well he's about as low as we can expect him to drop, and he still can't win! Sports 4 straight thirds. Has the class to win so it woudln't shock me, but I'll play against because the price will be low.

3) Bettor Watch Him - Parked the mile last out from post 9. Prior form wasn't eye catching but first start for new trainer landed him a third place finish. Likely rides the rail and looks for room late. Could easily pick up a check.

8) Bad Hombre - Shows the pattern of in the money, out of, int he money, out of. Last one was out so can we expect a solid effor there? I'll say....yes! Two back was a strong effort, and last week he was not beating JLs Man Of Action.

9) Native Lightning - Pena = +1. Strong swing wide in last = +1. Behind the aforementioned JL and Martha Maxine = +1. That's 3, and a can't ignore. Weaker field than last and the two that beat him would steamroll this field from post 10. Use.

9-8-3-2

$5 Tri 9 w 2/3/8 w 2/3/8 = $30

Race 10
5) Mcflirty - Won real money with this one and Ridge Jumper on closing night. Has been in much better classes and faced much better foes.

10) Don't Deny Me - Another who has faced much, much better.  Exacta could prove to be worth a bit too!

5-10 (box if you play)

Schoolkids was an easy pick coming out of the series action, but I wouldn't put on top with such low odds. Cinderella Guy looked jammed with zero room so look out next week! Southwestern Dream had a shuffle too and was flying late.

Almost had it dead on with my picks! Yannick chooses the right horse and comes up with a win in the shadow of the wire. Dropping out of the Opens at Yonkers you had to know he'd be a factor!

My Pick: 4-2-7-10
Finish: 4-2-10-7

Race 7

My Pick: 2-6-10-3
Finish: 10-6-9-4

Race 8
Terrible drive by Sears. I think he fell asleep in the back stretch. He got shuffled and then still saved third flying late. Not sur why I overlooked Mccelland, gets away from Elmo and races great.

My Pick: 7-6-4-1
Finish: 6-3-4-9

Race 9
Too easy...

My Pick: 7-5-10
Finish: 10-7-5-6

Race 10
Kind of surprised Foreign Officer was sent off as high as 3/1. I thought everybody would jump aboard after last weeks shuffle. Also thought Tobago Cays was a half mile horse. Proved me wrong, and well done.

My Pick: 2-4-5-1
Finish: 2-1A-3-1-5

Race 11
Camshaft Hanover...I can't figure this guy out. And Pres really folded throwing in the white towel huh?
My Pick: 1-5-3-2
Finish: 2-8-5-10

Race 12
I liked Bugattia Hanover a few back and also missed Beau at big odds closing night last fall. Wish I had the program lines on this race.

My Pick: 7-5-1
Finish: 4-8-7-3

Race 13
I knew I should have thrown in Mighty Joe Young on top. Would have had a nice trifecta too, $458!!! Major General clearly just was not ready and really needs to turn it around.

My Pick: 1-2-5-8
Finish: 2-5-8-9

Saturday February 5 Picks

Saturday February 5

Start = +$999.00

Race 1

Race 2
5) Don't Fool Me Now - Better post, still doesn't have Sears and I still think this one does his best work in NW of less than 10K.

6) Killer Quakes - Drops down after three straight starts in this class, one of which was a win. Saw sped last time but no late kick, but I think the drop will prove he's better than that.

7) Michael's Marvel - Another that seems to to his best in slightly lower than this.

8) J A's Outlaw - Drops significantly! Invites, Opens, winners over and a try int he Presidential! Sears and Pena...easy winner?

8-6-5-7

$5 Tri 8 w 2/6/7 w 2/6/7 = $30

Race 3
1) Good Bad Lucky - Hard to ignore this Burke entry and this horse. 2 out of the money finishes at various tracks. Gets Seras for Big M chance.

1A) Code Word - The lesser of the entry it seems but still capable. Raced nicely in legs of Complex but couldn't get it done in the final.

4) Malicious - Nice mile for first start at M1 since qualifier in December. No reason he can't improve off that.

5) Whiskey Pete- I can't dislike anymore, he's burned me too much and is sharp!

7) Allthatgltrsisgold - Came back off the layoff with a strong win. If he improves off that, he'll be hard to beat!

7-4-5-1

Race 4

Race 5
4-2-8-1

Race 6
1) Last Conquest - Starts at 8K claimer and finds his way all the way up to the 50K mark! and still racing well! Gets the rail and should offer some value.

2) Mr Massimo - Post 10 win, to post 2 in the same class and shows much higher classes lately. All systems go.

4) Blueridge Western - Back to M1 with better post and drops out of the Opens at Yonkers. Wonder how much the distance change had to do with some of the Yonkers horses jumping ship? Hard not to like in this spot.

7) Stonebridge Wish - Incredibly consistent of late and you can't ignore. Shows Opens on the program lines and stays in similar class. I wouldn't put on top though.

10) Montanez - Would not be shocked if this one comes out with a victory but I will play against.

4-2-7-10

$5 Tri 4 w 1/2/7/10 w 1/2/7/10 = $60

Race 7
2) Drive All Night - I've followed and lost on this one recently and this is the last chance. Bottom level and if he can't win this from the 2 post! He may never...

3) Cash Cab - Another who has really tailed off. If he can't toinght...

6) Toucam Sam - Gained some nice ground late last week. If a little closer he's has as good a shot as any.

10) Art At Heart - Hope this is too far out!

2-6-10-3

Race 8
1) Blue Claw - Rail is a great spot, but this is too high. Wait for the drop again.

4) Four Starzzz King - Easy win last week but this is a step up. Play cautiously as he won't offer much value.

6) Master Stroke - Drops back to a similar spot where he won his last. Not quite sure why he stopped last week though?

7) Johnny Absolut - Sharp right now and last week was just too high. Right back to the top and he may not be caught.

7-6-4-1

Race 9
Very weak field in my opinion. Only the 3 top morning line choices look good, and the morning line favorite has post 10 after being inside in his last 5 races.

7-5-10

Race 10
1) Versado - Long layoff, but this horse can fly. I don't think he'll be quite ready for this though?

1A) windsong Gorgeous - Strong efforts in the Complex series. Gets Sears again and should be seen come crunch time.

2) Foreign Officer - Nice Meadowlands shuffle last week and then was absolutely flying late. Won't offer much of a price though.

4) Art Professor - Parked 2 wide to the quarter in 26.4 in the Willowdale in Canada then held the lead until the stretch. Then saved third. Very, VERY sharp right now.

5) Classic Rock Nroll - A bit of press lately on this one. We know his capable being in all the stakes races at 3, but is he ready? Last week he seemed a bit flat in the later stages...

2-4-5-1

Race 11
1-5-3-2

Race 127-8-5-1

Race 13
1) Major General - He's cost me money in the past but I like this horse for some reason. In the bottom level off a little breather. See how Jo Pas Fod raced and that could give you a better idea if he's ready.

2) Mighty Young Joe - Another who has the class to win, but last week he didn't do anything? Will it show up tonight!? I wish I knew...

5) Really Rockin - Speed try last week but faded late. I usually like to see a horse carve out a mile in a previous start. Back to the grinding style?

6) Western Edge - Drops from 40K claimers at Yonkers. Is he good for the mile track though?

8) Private Interview - Team Miller again so look twice. First rough post in quite some time. Has speed but it might rough him up a bit too much...

9) Nuclear Joe Joe - Wow. 10, 10 and now 9. When he moves in, I'll probably bet.

Friday February 4

A cool Thursday in a bunch of sub par races. Tonights card looks a lot better. Hope it brings me some success!

Start = +$924.50

Race 1

Race 2
1) Ise The By Boy - Seems to like the rail riding journey which I'm not too thrilled about but the rail will help him for that. If he finds room late look out.

3) Freddy Day Hanover - Sports a second in a leg of the Clyde Hirt and had the lead at the top of the stretch in the final after going first over. Pretty quick fractions there too. 5th new driver in 5 starts.

4) Ponda River - Faced some good horses of late but the race lines still don't stand out to me.

6) Pandapocket - Dropped out of series action and finish 2nd a nose, but now we're back in series action and I'm not so sure.

7) Ab's Attack - Post 7 hurts but I like this one. Had a start over the track, then parked the mile first up fading only in the stretch, and then a no chance trip from post 10.

7-3-1-4

$2 Ex 7 w ALL = $14

Race 3
1) Diablo Seelster - Showed up for one of the legs of the Clyde Hirt. Does he show up for one of the legs of the Exit 16W? Does have the rail, Tetrick and Pena...

4) Sniper Seelster - Liked this one in the final and he proved me right! Strong finish for second behind a sharp, pocket riding Meirs Hanover. Gets a little better post and there's no reason he can't jump up and win this.

5) No Monkeys Allowed - Lots of thirds of late, and I envision the trend to continue. I just don't see him beating the likes of Meirs, Summer Camp and Sniper.

6) Summper Camp - Post 10 proved to be a little to much in the final, but what an effort. Left parked the quarter in 26.4 and had the lead at half in 54.4. With a much easier 6 post, drawing inside Meirs, I think the winners circle may be in the near future.

7) Meirs Hanover - Has to be morning line favorite after beating the 6 in the final but he draws one slot outside. Can't see him not leaving but he'll have a few horses to get around. Not as easy.

6-4-7-5

$5 Tri 6 w 1/4/7 w 1/4/5/7 = $45

Race 4
3) Self Professed - Much improved post in same class. Only thing is this is another that seems to love the rail
rides. Needs to get around the 1 and 2.

5) One Man Show S - Won in a lesser class 2 back being parked the first half. Stepped up at Yonkers with a first over second. Now back to M1. Recent journey's don't look too smooth. If he gets an easier trip he's more than capable.

7) Sauce Two K - Fits the condition by $100, but moves out after his last 5 starts from 3 or better. Don't see too much success from the outer teir, which is where he'll end up.

9) Aachoo - Last at Yonkers is impressive. A wire to wire winner from post 8. Still must show me something on mile track.

5-3-7-9

$5 Tri 3/5 w 3/5/7/9 w 3/5/7/9 = $60

Race 5
2) Marietta Hall - Last was likely a race over the track setting up for this series. Has won here before.

3) Ideal Newton - A month off with a qualifier mixed in, which doesn't look too bad at all. One of the favorites. Lures Tetrick off the 6.

4) Red Star Hottie - Lots of 1's and from post 4, I see more in the near future.

5) Shacked Up - Consistent of late at both 5/8 Chester and Dover. Little bit different on the mile track with the distance change and this type of field. HOWEVER, recent form can't be ignored.

6) Cuz She Can - One of those horses you must ask "how can you not like her?" Comes off a Mare Invite win, but Tetrick chooses off?

7) Shanghai Lil - Had to need that last one and looked the part riding the rail from post one near the back. Loaded late, but this is a better field and she has the outside. I'm hoping she'll need one more.

6-5-3-4

Race 6
1-3-6-2

Race 7
1) Semjac Legacy - Moves to the rail on the step up in class, which will help. Unfortunately doesn't show too much success at this level. Leaves a bit, finds a spot sits and saves for late? Tetrick sticks.

2) Flirtiscape - One of these days this one will show up, and it might be tonight. Drops out of Mare Invites, Preffereds and higher conditions. Gets nice inside post too.

4) Ubetterthinkthink - Another whose backclass will show up one night. Another coming out of a Mare Invite and a higher conditioned race. Nice exacta - 2/4???

5) Nights Kreeation - Nice patient drive by Andy last week. In same class from midpack. Will he leave or sit back and come on late? Can't ignore.

7) Mano Cornuto - Back to the level she can do some damage. Last week proved too high and there is a Mare Invite line. Likely to see speed.

8) Southwind Swallow - My pick for the challenge and saved me a shoe holding third. Loses Tetrick and moves outside. Hard to leave out, but I prefer others.

9) Gerries Madison - Loses Pierce and moves outside. Seems this one needs that right trip and I don't see it happening tonight.

4-2-7-5

$10 Exbx 2/4 = $20

Race 8
5-2-8-10

Race 9
1) Super Discipline - Shows Opens on the program and first start was a winner at M1. Steps up but keeps Tetrick. Rail will aid the cause.

2) Braggart - I been waiting for this one to drop, and he finally does. Time to play for me! Another who shows Opens.

4) Margarita Mary - Campbell gets the drive on a sharp mare but is stepping up slightly where she proved a non-factor last time in this condition.

5) Slightly Tipsy - Team Miller can't be overlooked. First M1 start was a good one. Improvement in second try? I think so!

9) Willie Count - I wish this one had a better post! Consistent of late and if Pierce gives him the right trip he'll be seen late.

5-2-4-9

$10 Win 2 = $10
$5 Tri 2/5 w 2/4/5 w 2/4/5/9 = $40

Race 10
1) Jasperthat A - Hurt me in the past so for me she jumps out. Gets the rail here after a nice win over at Yonkers in the top condition. Different story on a mile track in this type of race thuogh!

2) Up Front Cruiser - Same boat as the 1! Does show more outer tier trips which, to me, gives her the edge over the 1.

3) Go On BB - Million dollar winner for the Burke barn and rarely has a race not in the top conditions. Will likely go right around the 1 and 2.

4) Ramonda Disomma - Has had success here in the past but she relies on a strong late kick and a quick pace. It COULD set up that way too...Maybe. Might be a touch to high for her too.

5) Symphony In Motion - Another from Yonkers who I believe has been in the M1 winners Circle. Versatile type and I feel Sears has a "gatetime" decision to make on whether or not he should leave.

6) Laughandbehappy - The favorite, hands down. 2-2 pretty convincingly. Tough chalk.

7) Omen Hanover - One of those horses I just love. Has hurt me in the past and has helped me. Helps she's sharp too! Also know the trainer!

6-3-7-5

Race 11

Race 12
8) Inform - Outkicked by a bomb last week but it was his first start at M1. Do we see more here? I think we do.

Thursday February 3 Picks

Thursday February 3

Another sub par Thursday card. I say take Thursdays purse money, god knows where it's coming from, and put it into Friday and Saturdays. More races, and higher purses. Anyway, I only have the program lines for the three survival challenge races. Other picks usually come from horses I remember or have seen recently and I don't remember most in the box tonight. Sorry for the lackluster picks tonight. Better coming tomorrow and Saturday with the weekend preview having more program pages and better horses racing.

Start = +$1,000.50

Race 1

Race 2

Race 3
1) Chaplin Hall - I recall liking this one last week and picking him for the chellenge. I do not have the program lines for this race but gets the rail and it's the Burke barn. They'll get this one rolling. Tonight might be the night.

3) L F Topaz - A shocker a few starts back and I feel one of these days he'll find the winners circle again.

4) Lukas Rossi - Jumping out at me for some reason? Drops.

5) Autumn Victory - First start back was not bad at all. Improvement coming?

7) Smooth Muscles - Pretty sharp of late and beat similar several weeks ago.

1-5-3-7

$2 Tri 1/5 w 1/3/5 w 1/3/4/5/7 = $24

Race 4
A lot of these horses have been off for quite sometime. I didn't see any of the qualifiers which makes it even more difficult. Could be some nice prices this race.

3) Truly The Best - Shows wins both on and off the pace which I like to see. 3-3 career and experience on a mile track (Balmoral). However, the qualifiers don't look "great" on paper.

7) Quality Sport - Another who has experience on the mile track. Also sports two wins in some 2YO stakes races at Balmoral.

8) Mcsocks - Probably one of the fresher horses in this group. Has one win this year going first over but his last was abit of a disappointment from the same post?

11) Joe Palz - Another of the fresher horses. 1-1 this year with Meadowlands experience. Seems ilke most of his better efforts were rail riders and good trips. Will the journey be smooth in an 11 horse field, I'm not so sure.

Race 8
8) Lil Miss Nyalation - Hard not to like this one on paper. Pena and Sears and lots of strong finishes of late. Only knock is post maybe? and shows no Meadowlands races on the program.

9) Natural Woman N - I think this one did somen ice work last year on the half milers (Freehold and Yonkers). Not sure she's mile track kind of horse but does sport a win from the 10 hole here back on 12/3. This is also a step up.

8-9-5

Race 9
5) Morguns Sweetheart - Took a stab at this one in her last start and she didn't show much. Steps down a tad and outclasses these. Does the class who up this time!? Picks up Sears.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL

3 Week Mark

We are now 3 weeks into the winter meet at the Meadowlands. I for one, love it and I hope you all are to. If the Meadowlands does close, I will try to find another track to bet and be successful but The Meadowlands is where it's at. I love betting the Meadowlands and I love handicapping the Meadowlands. I haven't had much success elsewhere, and I find it hard to continually bet a half mile track. I went over my numbers so far this year and this is what I've got on my mythical bets!

Bets so far = +$1,000.50 (There was a scratch I didn't account for and that is now adjusted accordingly)

Bets based on the following consistent wagers:

Win = $10 Exacta = $2 Trifecta = $2 Superfecta = $.10 Pick 3 = $2 Pick 4 = $1 Double = $10

Total thus far = +$180.40

Saturday January 29 Results

Saturday January 29

Interesting night with some horses continuing there dominance, and others faltering in big spots. I didn't get to watch, yet again, but here's the recap.

Star = +$659

Race 1
Mighty Young Joe really didn't do anything I anticipated. Didn't go to the front, sat on the rail the whole race and looked flat in the stretch drive. Maybe this ones best days are behind? Cannae Barrone just broke from a no chance spot. How'd he get off so badly so early?

My Pick: 3-6
Finish: 2-7-10-3

Race 2
Shark Dressed man proves once again those good finishes at long odds were no fluke. Super Eighty Eight brushed to the front but couldn't hold on come crunch time and Don't Fool Me Now's first over trip proved too much.

My Pick: 3-9-4
Finish: 4-7-3-1

Race 3
St Elmo Hero has not lost, ever. Very impressive.

My Pick: 5-ALL
Finish: 5-1A-1B-1C-7

Race 4
Wish I played this exacta! From the 10 hole right to the top and JL never looked back! Martha sat second and let no one pass. 1-2 around the track for a nice $41.80 exacta.

My Pick: 6-10
Finish: 10-6-7-3

Race 5
Meirs Benefits from a pocket ride and Sniper followed cover for the one and two spots respectively. Monkeys road the rail and found room late, as anticipated. Summer Camp found post 10 too much.

Result = +$317

My Pick: 6-8-10-2
Finish: 8-6-2-3

Race 6
Alexie Mattosie is sharp right and proved me wrong with a first up victory at the top level. Better Sweet just misses after following cover and swinging two wide. River Shark also surprised me while Western Shore looks like he might have been jammed a bit late?

My Pick: 2-6-5-4
Finish: 4-2-1-2A-7

Race 7
Dash N, one I took an extra look at, gets up in a shocker at 18/1. Artist's View is in better form than I had thought finish second a neck while Southwestern Dream was jammed until late. Offer zero value in next start. Spy N just tried to come from too far back. Master Stroke was flat with no excuses.

My Pick: 4-1-8-7
Finish: 5-2-4-7

Race 8
I thought the 10 post would be too much, and Mr Massimo proved to me it wasn't. Johnny Z doesn't surprise me too much for a second and Dinneratartsplace continues to collect checks after a bomb finish off a layoff. Foreign Officer had an awful shuffle and is another who will offer no value next week. Corky Baran found the 10 hole too much and Rescue Plan too got the M1 shuffle.

My Pick: 7-9-1-5
Finish: 10-3-4-5

Race 9
Four Starzzz King wins as the favorite easily and Onthewingsofnangel goes first up at 30/1 and gets second. Red Hot Yankee was flying late, could be a good bet next week depending on where he lands and Hennessy Hanover offers my betting angle for next week! As well as Beau Rivage N who proved in the past that my "system" works well!

My Pick: 3-4-7-9
Finish: 3-10-1-7

Race 10
Pres Order finds his best going gate to wire at almost 4/1. Mr Excellent rides the pocket for second and Drop read took up second over for third. Western Ace certainly needs a lot more after a disappointing second start back. I need to wait for some sign of life now and I hope he doens't win a big odds and I miss it!

My Pick: 3-5-9-2
Finish: 5-2-9-7

Race 11
Good thing I didn't bet or pick because I was pretty clueless honestly. Allthatglitrsisgold was in the same qualifier as another horse, forget who, who raced well earlier in the night. (another good betting angle) Whiskey Pete would have beaten me again! and Malicious rode the pocket for third.

My Pick:
Finish: 6-1A-2-3

Race 12
Drop and pop for Blue Claw, but no value; gate to wire winner. Beths Boy N finds his best gear late and gets second by a nose and Camshaft Hanover proves better ready than I anticipated for third coming home in 26.3!

My Pick: 6-4-5-2
Finish: 6-5-7-3

Race 13
Didn't like any one horse too much so no picks for me here. Bestnotlie Hanover - Private Interview - Art At Heart - Nuclear Joe Joe

My Pick:
Finish: 1-2-8-10

Saturday January 29 Picks

Saturday January 29

A great Thursday, and a poor Friday. So let's hope tonight is somewhere in the middle? Some nice races tonight, and lots of horses to like. Here's my go at it!
Start = +$789

Race 1
3) Mighty Young Joe - Finally draws well and outclasses these. Right to top.

6) Cannae Barran - Another who has faced better. Live cover and look out!

$10 Double 3 = $10

3 -6

Race 2
3) Super Eighty Eight - Back down the class ladder with an inside post. One of the favorites.

4) Shark Dressed Man - Keeps Sears over the 9 and proved the 72/1 second was no fluke!

9) Don't Fool Me Now - Not quite as low as I'd like to bet and from the outside. I bet this one in anything lower than NW$10,000.

3-9-4

Race 5
2) No Monkeys Allowed - Lots of series action of late and racing pretty well in all of them. Inside post raises his chances, sits, saves and anything is possible late.

5) Diablo Seelster - Sports a second in leg one of the Hirt with a nice two wide move. A Pena horse cannot be ignored and the midpack post gives Simpson options.

6) Sniper Seelster - A 1st in leg one and 3rd in leg two. Campbell is the master in finals. Better post and the second leg could have been a bit of a joy ride to keep him fresh?

8) Meirs Hanover - Lots of in the money finishes with loses to Summer Camp and St Elmo hero who both have solid winning streaks. Draws inside Summer Camp here but must get around some talented ones inside of him.

9) Touch The Rock - Liked at first but at second glance I'm not so sure. Moves WAY out and both of the series legs were pocket rides.

10) Summer Camp - Looking to make it 7 in a row, but makes it fun getting the 10 post. Has the speed to overcome, but no one inside will let it be easy for him!
$5 Tri 6/8 w 6/8/10 w 2/5/6/8/10 = $60

6-8-10-2

Race 7
1) The Mohegan Pan - Down from Canada from a Pref race in which it looked like he was overmatched. The rail is a big advantage and gets a hot Tetrick fresh off five wins last night.

2) Artist's View - Has the class to win, but I'm hoping this is too high, too fast.

4) Southwestern Dream - Three straight solid races in similar classes. This one could be rounding back to his best form. Right to the top?

5) Dash N - Loses Tetrick off a two move effort. Back up in class though. Will offer value if you fancy. I think I'll wait till he drops back down a bit.

7) Spy N - Very sharp but takes a pretty big jump. Probably hoping this is too high for now.

8) Master Stroke - Back to the outside for Pena and what looks to be his new regular Simpson? Has as good a shot as any but will need good cover.

9) Doubletrouble - Wish this one drew a better post. First off layoff so forgive last. Came home in 27 flat. I think I'll wait one more...

Race 8
1) Rescue Plan - Back up in class but gets the rail. I should have had this one last week and for whatever reason, I didn't. Don't think the trip will be as easy so I think I'll just use underneath.

5) Foreign Officer - Stakes horse at 3 so he was in all the big ones. Hoping he needs one having been off since September.

7) Jim's Guy - Gets some class relief back to a class where he won. Wish the driver wasn't Mettinis, but I won't let that sway my opinion too much. It's hurt me recently!

8) Casimir Camotion - Has my angle but it wasn't exactly what I look for. I'll wait till Andy jumps back on board!

9) Corky Baran - Some horror trips of late! Parked in last, which I like to see and didn't tire too badly. Post 9 hurts, but with any sort of cover look out late!

$5 Exacta Key Box 7 w 1/9 = $20

7-9-1-5

Race 9
3) Four Starzzz King - Early move and then came up just short. I recall Tetrick saying Marino didn't do much over the winter and his horses will be better in the coming weeks. A first and a third, and the best is still coming!?

4) Boiler Bob The QB - Has "the angle"!!! FINALLY gets a good post! Campbell stays, a lot to like if you ask me!

7) Hennessy Hanover - Showed zero early speed and that can't be good when you're on the outside. Tetrick sticks and with cover, this one could come from way back.

9) Just Being A Boy - Same class after a brush and crush win. Looked to be fighting to hold the lead late over two horses who drew inside tonight. Very consistent, maybe this is too high and too far out?

$10 Exacta Box 3/4 = $20

3-4-7-9

: : Other Notes : :

Race 3
5) St Elmo Hero - 22 straight, going for 23. 'Nuff said.

5-ALL (HAHA)

Race 4
6) Martha Maxine - Paid a nice price in last race, wish I had it. Moves up in class but has the class to do so.

10) Jl's Man Of Action - Fresh Casie Coleman but post 10. Gets involved early a little, and gets good cover he has a shot.

6-10

Race 6
1) River Shark - Tired late in last, looked a tad flat late before that. I prefer other, sharper ones.

1A) Handsome Harry - Same as the one, plus I don't think he's quite this good to be racing with the likes of the 2 and 6.

2) Bettor Sweet - One of my favorite horses. Real thriller in last. Seems to do his best work in the cold weather and is in great shape for this. A real contender.

2A) Western Shore - Another one of consistence. 1, 1, and 2 since coming back with no signs of slowing down. Only harm is the 9 post in a great field.

3) Blatantly Good - Won this last year, but isn't the same horse right now. I'd be a bit surprised if he wins here. Loses Tetrick.

3A) Real Celebration - A win and a third in the legs, but now with post 10. With the types of horses to his inside, this will not be easy by any means.

4) Alexie Mattosie - The other part of that thrilling dead heat last week. Looks like he does his best work riding the rail, which might happen here with post 1, again! Might offer a decent price too.

5) Golden Receiver - I think we'll see the speed we usually do. Not quite sure why Pierce abandonded that tactic last week. This horse loves the front, and the 2 hole makes that a lot easier.

6) Vlos - Woulda made it more fun if he had drawn worse, but he didn't. Sears can do what he wants here for probably the sharpest horse in the past several months. 12 straight in the money finishes. 1 third, 4 seconds, and 7 firsts. WOW.

7) Schoolkids - Another new driver in Perry and he'd really have to pull a rabbit out of his hat to get a piece of this one.

2-6-5-4

Race 10
2) Mr Excellent - I'll wait for a tad lower class. Loses Sears to the 3 as well, but does BARELY fit the condition.

3) Western Ace - Serious stakes horse at 3, gets Sears, had his race back and over the track. Wouldn't surprise me!

5) Presedential Order - Will Pena find the form this one had last year? Eventually I'm sure and thsi MIGHT be it. Big drop!

8) Michael's Marvel - Outside and I think too high. Wait for the drop again.

9) Drop Red - Talented horse draws outside again. Had his start back and he will be very good shortly.

3-5-9-2

Race 11
1) Dr Dreamy - Is that the North America Cup I see? Off since then though. I think he'll need this one after that layoff. A prep for the Aquarius.

1A) Whiskey Pete - I said it once, and I'll say it again, I don't know why but I don't like this horse. BUT he has "the angle"! This should be tougher, but defnitely has a shot.

2) Malicious - A stakes horse last year at 3. Has raced of late but his races are "ehh"...another one taking the trip over the famed oval in preparation for next week?

3) Classic Rock Nroll - Off since October, but someone has to win!? All horses have high potentials! Inside and Campbell.

6) Allthatglitrsisgold - Qualifier looks good. Quick and came home in 26 flat. Again, has't raced since November. Good race to just enjoy without a bet...

A race to watch!

Race 12
2) Shadows Dream - Same class, inside post. Why not?

4) Drive All Night - Same class again, after nothing last week? Driver change to Campbell. I went after last week, and I'll give him one more shot.

5) Beths Boy N - Sharp lately with a nice post to do what Tetrick wants. Oh yeah, gets Tetrick, the hottest driver at M1 right now.

6) Blue Claw - Back down the class ladder where he can do some damage. Simpson sticks here and I can't say I'm surprised. One of the favorites.

7) Camshaft Hanover - Vert flat lat week off nice cover. Stays in the "lower" class but I find hard to like after his last few efforts. Waiting for some sign of improvement. (Look for the pick 3 payoffs and DD payoffs and odds. If they are low, he may be ready)

My pick, My Man Ben no where to be found. Not a good start.

Race 5
8-5-3 (Royal Cee Cee N - Headpoles R Us - Ideal Nectarine)
Royal Cee Cee N is the real deal huh. Ideal Nectarine first up raced a nice race. Coudln't have been more wrong about Bet The Ranch and Flirtiscape, Marietta Hall, I'm hoping, needed this one and Ubetterthink Think squandered a pocket ride. Cold night for CHECK!

Race 8
7-6-3 (Cameron Chip - Slightly Tipsy - SJ's Super Star)
Ain' tshes Titan scratched so at least I couldn't be wrong! Dink Ado couldn't get up after swining 2 wide and Sooner Than Later Breaks. Long, long night.

Friday January 28 Picks

Thursday January 27

Off a hot Thursday in which I wish I was able to watch and I wish I actually made those bets! At least it keeps the confidence rolling. Hoping for another big night tonight! Here we go...

(After looking through the races I have the program for, tonight is not easy. Played a little cautious adding some horses and playing less money. Hoping the odds end up in m favor for some nice payouts. Otherwise I may lose money even if I win!)

Race 4
1) R Sam - Feel this one might be a small track horse. All the NJSS action was at Freehold. However, he was in the Colonial Cons. at Chester, the Zweig at Tioga (in a race Temple Of Doom broke the track record), and the last one at the Meadowlands wasn't half bad. With the rail the plan looks to be similar. Get good position, ride the rail and find room late. Just may work.

2) Opal Mine - Sports an awful lot of 1's and 2's on the program. Gotta like that, and the again gets an inside post. Right to the top and will he get any pressure? (My challenge pick)

4) Tilly Bomb - Likely to be the big favorite with a nice win last week swining 2 wide at the 3/4 mark. Does that change the tactics? Too many times I see a horse who is good and a closer go to the top, where he/she isn't comfortable and falter. We shall see...

5) Unshakeable - Lures Sears off a horse he won with fairly easily last week. Hmmmm....

6) Special Eddie - First start since October was against Zeitgeist and Ellen's Isle where he finished third. Another strong effort with some improvement ahead?

7) Margarita Mary - Strong first over effort in last behind Tilly Bomb who was flying late. Only knock is an outside post so Andy must get her out and find good position.

9) Jj's Fantasy Colt - Does drop a bit but from way out here I think I like others more. Loses Andy.

$2 Tri - 2/4 w 1/2/6/7 w 1/2/4/5/6/7 = $48 $24

Race 6
1) Viva Las Lindy - I really don't like this one too much...but something is telling me to reconsider...

3) Sauce Two K - Nothing like squandering a perfect trip. Campbell does stay and ow you watch, the betting public has had enough and he'll jump up with a win!

4) Don't Know Chip - Likely odds on favorite here. Jammed in late and when he got loose, look out! Sports Open HC at Pocono on the program, has the first start back and it was good behind Breeders Crown champ In Focus.

5) Macho Lindy - Looks like a two move effort last week in the same class; missed by a neck! Before that was in NW$22,500 and didn't doo terrible. Pref HCP at Freehold with outside posts...Do I need to change my challenge pick?

6) Braggart - Last weeks start wasn't bad, although yes, it could have been better. Gets a little better post and I see some Open on the program. One of these days?

7) Pricevalleyrevitup - Dropping from NW$32,000 and Open HDP at Yonkers. I like the class drop, but the track change to a mile? Will it do him in or help? I wish I knew.

8) Definitely Mamie - Last 5 this one has won $26,000. Isn't this a NW$16,000!? So the AE gets her in! Hmmmmmmm.....Races aren't bad at all, but the post is a killer.

$1 Tri 3/5/7 w 3/4/5/7 w 1/3/4/5/6/7/8 = $45

Race 7
1) Lillywhite - Back to Big M on a class drop. Last M1 start was same class and she finished 3rd by a neck. The rail helps a lot and I'm not quite sure why the morning line is 15/1?

2) Ultimate Best - Is that a Mare Invite I see? Then $50,000Cl, and now $30,000. And the two hole? I'm liking more, and more....and more
5) Linden Beauty - Still remember this one stringing together a bunch of nice starts last summer. This is a drop back to where she finished 2nd by a nose.

6) Shayna Baby - Got me a winner in the challenge last out at a price I wish was higher. Yannick opts off? Still can't ignore the Baby, when I did she paid $83 to win!

7) Semjac Legacy - Tetrick right away is a good angle, and it's a drop. Surely fire out and try for the lead. If she gets it and can control the pace she might not be caught.

8) Native Doll - Jugette, 3YO Matron, NW17.5, NW 22.5 and now NW10. Hey now! Only knock is 8 post, but if the class shows, it might not matter!

9) Ridge Jumper - Stays at the same level where she's been successful. This will be much tougher though. Better field and lands way outside.

$.10 Super 2/7/8 w 1/2/7/8 w 1/2/5/6/7/8/9 w 1/2/5/6/7/8/9 = $18

Race 9
2) Terror Time - ALMOST has my angle. Had a short "layoff" after two breaks. Maybe last week was just an effort to stay flat? Goes out for the win now?

3) Lake Shark - Lots of 2's and 3's and only one, 1. Will be there late, but keep that in mind. 20 combined second and thirds lifetime.

5) Lord Of The Bling - Had his start after qualifer and got a win thanks to a DQ. Looked like a joy ride though and now to the mile track. I'm not so sure?

6) Four Starz Sue - Drops again and I know he's burned lots of cash lately but you can't ignore he'll be there late. One of these days his class will be enough to beat these lesser horses, one of these days...

9) Inform - Burke invader from the the Meadows with 2 straight wins. Is a jump in class slightly on the mile track. If he can overcome the outside post he has as good as hot as any.

$5 Tri 6 w 2/3 w 2/3/5/9 = $30

: : Other Notes : :

Race 1

5) My Man Ben - Remember singling this fella in a pick 5 at Freehold. Ended up winning and I hit it, but it didn't pay that much. Midpack post to do what Berry wants in a pretty low class. Certainly possible.

Race 5
2) Bet The Ranch - Coming out of the top class mare races and gets a cozy 2 post. Nice!

3) Ideal Nectarine - Another who was in the top level and didn't race poorly at all. Definitely has a shot.

4) Marietta Hall - Loved this horse two years back. Gave this horse to a friend of mine for a pick four. He hit it and won over a grand. I didn't go that night, and I still regret it...

6) Ubetterthink Think - Casie Coleman and out of the top level. It was the first start back with Casie so I forsee some improvement here.

7) Mano Cornuto - Don't know what to say but she's ringing a bell?

8) Royal Cee Cee N - Nice win last week now jumps up with 8 post. 9-5 morning line? Really Dave, that good? We'll see!

9) Flirtiscape - She'll show up one day, but I don't thin it's today.

2 - 6 - 3 - 8 (can't bet the favorite!)

Race 8
1) Ain' tshes Titan - Lands the rail which is a big plus, but is this too high? She'll tug along and I think she'll be in the mix.

2) Sooner Than Later - I remember that brush for the win recently, but wasn't it with Tetrick?

4) Dink Adoo - If you don't like this horse, you may not like harness racing

9) Soapy Sap - Too high, and too far out.

4 - 2 - 1 - 10

Race 10
2) Village Bolero - She handled the mile track. Bravo, and I was wrong.

3) Sand Pleasure - Raced very well on first start back for a nice tightener. No reason she can't win this.

6) Natalie - She'll win one of these days, I promise!

10) Artimittateslife - 10 post again, really!? Another drop I believe. Has burned some cash but gets Campbell...

6 - 10 - 3 - 2

Race 11
1) Delightful Diva - Pena and the rail. What a combo. Helps the horse is good too!

4) Southwind Swallow - I thought I remember Sears driving this one? Tetrick aint a bad replacement though!

6) Gerries Madison - Approaching that "is this too high" question...I guess we'll find out!

Race 12
1) Basilio Blue Chip - Again with the rail! Lucky guy! One of the fav's

5) Kathryn Dancer A - She's been in might higher than this! Mid pack post, has shot!

7) Western Avenue - I remember this one breaking around the last turn at Chester, gathering himself and coming back to win! Erv Miller was the trainer then, but at a $15KCL level, it's possible!
